Teresa Faris

“人类每天大约呼吸22000次。蜂鸟平均每分钟呼吸250次。

特权有很多种形式，从眼睛的颜色、身体和心理能力到阶级、地位和权力。我认为一个人能拥有的最大特权就是忘记空气进出身体的能力。完成这一重要的自然行为而不需要任何精神上的考虑，解放了大脑去探索无尽的幻想、发明和日常任务的竞技场。

当一个人被剥夺了自然和特权，他必须找到抚慰心灵的方法。关在笼子里的非人类可以踱步或反复咀嚼木头，而不自由的人类可以踱步或锯金属。有节奏和重复的动作鼓励内省或创造性思维。作为一名创造者，我采用了这一做法，并发现当身体在测试和提醒无常时，它可以放松大脑。我被最简单的锯/穿洞技术所吸引，因为我发现我能够忘记这个过程，就像一些人可能忘记呼吸一样。”
